Fruit loaf is a soft and utterly pleasing tea-time accompaniment, which also works great as a breakfast addition. Whether you want a sweet side for Christmas or just to make your plate special, here’s a recipe.
3 cups maida 2 cups water 2 cups powdered sugar 2 cups dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, cherries, apricots) 2 eggs 2 tbsp butter 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cinnamon ½ tsp nutmeg
Heat some water in a pan and add dried fruits and sugar till the sugar dissolves.
Let the water cool for about half an hour till the fruits are plump.
Whisk the dry ingredients like flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.
Mix the butter and eggs with the fruit mixture. Combine the dry and wet ingredients.
Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake for about an hour.
Let the fruit loaf cool down. Slice it and enjoy.
