Honey chilli potatoes are a winter party favourite because they have a crunchy texture and a sweet and spicy coating that is hard to resist. A shiny honey glaze balances the heat of the chilli and makes a rich, satisfying bite. It adds flavour, comfort, and a festive touch to every winter gathering when served hot.
2 medium potatoes (cut into thin fingers) 1 tablespoon cornflour 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup 1 tablespoon honey ½ teaspoon chilli flakes 1 teaspoon sesame seeds Oil for frying Spring onion, for garnish
Wash the potatoes and cut them into thin strips. Then, boil them for a few minutes and pat them dry completely.
For extra crispness, coat the potato fingers evenly with cornflour and all-purpose flour.
Deep-fry the potatoes that have been coated until they are golden and crunchy. Then, drain them on paper towels.
Heat a little oil in a pan, then add soy sauce, tomato ketchup, honey, and chilli flakes. Stir until the sauce is shiny.
Put the fried potatoes in the sauce and toss them around until they are evenly coated.
Then, sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped spring onion on top and serve hot.
