The sesame sweet is known for its nutty flavour and moorish texture—often relished during the auspicious festival of Makar Sankranti. Use this easy recipe that has minimal ingredients to make a batch to share with family or loved ones.
50 grams toasted white sesame seeds ½ cup jaggery powder ¼ cup desiccated coconut 3 tablespoons water ½ teaspoon cardamom powder ¼ cup roasted peanuts Oil, for greasing
Crush the peanuts and set aside while toasting the coconut lightly in a dry pan until slightly golden-brown.
Add the jaggery and water to the same pan to dissolve into a thick syrup before adding in the sesame seeds, crushed peanuts, coconut and cardamom powder.
Grease your palms with oil and divide the warm mixture into equal portions before rolling into bite-sized laddus.
Cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to 10 days.
