A popular Korean street snack with a unique take on traditional sweet bread rolls is called Korean cheese buns. This bread uses medium-sized rolls that are about 5 inches wide and split into wedges rather than loaves of bread. Sweetened cream cheese is spread onto the bread. This recipe is a delicious and simple treat. Here’s how you can make Korean cream buns in your kitchen.
8 medium dinner rolls, or bake your own using dough 1 full pack of softened cream cheese 4 tablespoons of sugar 50 ml of thick cream 1 cup melted butter 2 eggs 1 cup milk 3 tablespoons of vanilla extract
Create a smooth, sweet filling by combining cream cheese and sugar.
Then pipe it into the middle of each bun.
To make the dipping sauce, whisk together melted butter, milk, egg, vanilla, and a little amount of sugar in a separate bowl.
Without slicing all the way through, cut a deep cross ‘X’ on top of each bun.
Dip the buns into the sauce to coat them. Pipe additional cream cheese filling into the slits.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 180°C, or until glossy and slightly brown.
