While gulab jamuns make for a perfect mid-week guilty pleasure, did you know that you can turn them into a healthier version? This recipe is a sugar-free recipe that is simple to make, and you can enjoy it guilt-free!
1 cup low-fat milk ¼ cup whole wheat flour ½ tsp baking powder 2 tbsp ghee ¼ cup milk, separately set aside 2 cups water 1 cup stevia-based sweetener 4-5 green cardamom pods 1 tsp rose water A few saffron strands
Add water, ghee, saffron, cardamom and stevia sweetener to a pan. Simmer for 5 mins. Add rose water.
Mix milk powder, whole-wheat flour, and baking powder in a small bowl. Add the ghee and rub into the mixture.
Add milk to form a soft dough. Let it rest for 10minutes. Divide dough and roll into small ball shapes.
Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. Fry the balls until golden brown. Transfer to sugar-free syrup.
Soak for 1-2 hours. Serve!
