A simple but fresh pizza dough recipe that can be made at home, upscales the flavour and quality of a pizza complete with sauce, toppings and cheese. Whether it is a Neapolitan-style recipe or a thin crust pizza, this foolproof dough works well both ways.
2 + ¼ teaspoon dry yeast 4 cups all-purpose flour 1.5 cups warm water 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon sugar
Combine the warm water, sugar and yeast in a large bowl before setting it aside for the yeast to bloom.
Add the olive oil to the liquid before tipping in the flour and salt, stirring lightly to form a shaggy dough.
On a well-floured surface, knead the dough for 10-12 minutes until it feels bouncy to touch and becomes a smooth ball.
Place the dough in an oiled bowl for 60-90 minutes, until it rises significantly.
Divide into two large or four small portions and use as needed, to make pizza.
