Fermented Dosa Batter is a traditional South Indian staple made from rice and urad dal. It is naturally fermented overnight and develops a light, tangy flavour and airy texture perfect for soft and crispy dosas. This wholesome batter is a blend of nutrition and taste, and must be tried at home.

Ingredients

2 cups rice, preferably idli rice 1 cup urad dal 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds Salt to taste

Step 1

Soak urad dal, rice, and fenugreek seeds separately for 6-8 hours.

Step 2

Grind urad dal and fenugreek seeds together into a smooth paste, and add water as needed. Grind the rice too, and then mix both.

Step 3

Mix well, cover and then let it ferment overnight for 8-12 hours, in a warm place.

Step 4

Add salt before using and adjust consistency with water if needed.
