The effortless aloo burger tikki is crunchy and a very popular snack in India. It is healthy as it does not contain cheese or mayonnaise. It is only made with the goodness of a variety of vegetables.
2 large potatoes, peeled and diced ½ teaspoon ground cumin ½ teaspoon ground red chilli powder ½ teaspoon coriander powder ½ teaspoon amchoor powder ¼ teaspoon dried mint ½ cup fresh coriander, chopped 2 tablespoons cornstarch 4 tablespoons oil 6 burger buns
2 tablespoons melted butter Shredded lettuce Tomatoes, thinly sliced Sweet onion, thinly sliced Coriander chutney 1 cup fresh coriander 1 small green chilli, chopped ½ small white onion, chopped ½ a lemon
Boil potatoes until fork-tender. Gently mash it.
Add cumin, red chilli, coriander, amchoor and dried mint powder. Squeeze in a lemon. Mix.
Add fresh coriander, salt and cornstarch. Mix until incorporated. Form 6 medium-sized patties, about the size of the burger bun.
Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add patties and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Brush melted butter on burger buns; toast them in a hot pan. Spread some coriander chutney on it.
Add lettuce to the bottom bun, followed by aloo tikki and sliced tomatoes and onions.
