Holi 2026: How To Make Famous Mathura Ke Pede Easily At Home

You must have heard of Mathura ke pede, which is made and served to Lord Krishna. It is also called Brijwasi peda. You can recreate it at home with this recipe.

Ingredients

200g bura sugar 250g khoya or mawa 2-3 tbsp of ghee 4-5 cardamoms, peeled and crushed

Step 1

Crumble the mawa or khoya. Heat a pan with ghee. Add the crumbled khoya.

Step 2

Keep cooking until it is light brown. Add the ghee and cook it well until it turns dark.

Step 3

Let the mawa cool slightly. Add in the cardamom powder and bura sugar. Mix it well into a dough-like form.

Step 4

Roll them into small ball shapes. Press them down gently into a flat shape.

Step 5

Coat them in sugar. Place them on a serving plate. Let it set. Serve Mathura ke pede to guests.
