A very typical chicken meal across Indian kitchens, chicken keema is cooked in aromatic herbs and spices. You can eat it with rice, roti or use it as a filling for many snacks like rolls, samosas and sandwiches.
500g minced chicken 2 chopped onions 2 tsps ginger paste 2 tsps garlic paste 2 chopped green chillies 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp garam masala 2 chopped tomatoes Salt to taste Oil for cooking
Place a pan on medium heat. Add in the oil and onions. Fry until golden brown.
Next, add in the ginger, garlic, and green chillies. Cook for 2 minutes.
Now add the minced chicken and cook it thoroughly until a light brown colour.
Put in the turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
Add tomatoes and cook until they soften and release their juices. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes.
Remove from heat. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
Leftover chicken keema can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
