Rasam rice is a wholesome combo that feels like a warm hug from your mother. Tangy tomato stew adds flavours to a bowl of plain rice and completes the dish. It is lightweight on the stomach and improves gut health. Check out the recipe.
1 tsp cumin, pepper ½ cup rice 2 tbsp moong, toor dal 7-8 curry leaves 1 tbsp tamarind paste 1 tsp hing, ghee 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tbsp coriander leaves 2 tsp sambar podi 3-4 garlic cloves 1 chopped tomato
Soak dal and rice for 15 minutes. Soak tamarind in water for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, chop the tomato, coriander leaves, and garlic.
Crush pepper and cumin seeds using a mortar and pestle.
Add all the ingredients to a pressure cooker along with water, salt, and powdered spices.
Cook for 3-4 whistles and serve with tempering mustard leaves, curry leaves, and red chillies.
