When cravings hit between meals, sprouts chaat can be a quick fix option. It is light, feels crunchy in every bite, and is filled with protein and flavour, making it a healthy snacking option that is not too heavy.
1 cup mixed sprouts (moong/chana) ½ cup chopped cucumber ½ cup chopped tomatoes ¼ cup chopped onion 2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped) 1 green chilli (finely chopped) 1 tbsp lemon juice ½ tsp chaat masala ½ tsp roasted cumin powder Salt to taste
In a bowl, soak 1 cup each of chana and moong overnight. The next day, lightly steam or pressure-cook until they are a bit tender but not mushy, to maintain their crunch.
To the boiled sprouts, add chopped cucumber, tomatoes, and onions, and mix everything gently.
Add green chilli and fresh coriander leaves from the top to give freshness to the chaat.
Sprinkle some chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, salt and toss it well so that the spices get mixed evenly.
Drizzle a few drops of lemon juice on the chaat and mix everything again.
Serve the prepared sprouts chaat immediately to get the best taste and texture, without it turning soggy.
