Traditionally made with flattened rice, poha is a go-to breakfast option in most Indian homes. To give the regular South Indian bowl a twist, you can make oats poha and make your breakfast healthier.
1.5 cups rolled oats 1 tablespoon oil 2 tablespoons peanuts ½ teaspoon mustard seeds 10 curry leaves ¼ cup chopped onion ¼ cup peas ¼ cup chopped tomato ½ teaspoon turmeric powder ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder Salt to taste Lemon juice as required
Rinse the rolled oats till they soften a bit and set them aside.
Heat some oil and saute mustard seeds, curry leaves, and chopped onion.
Mix in peas, chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, and red chilli powder.
When the tomatoes are soft, add rinsed oats and mix well.
Garnish with roasted peanuts and lemon juice. Serve it hot.
