Chilla is a popular breakfast food in India made using besan and other veggies like spinach, onions, and more. This twist on the classic recipe helps you increase your fibre intake and promote weight loss. So, here's an oats chilla recipe that you can try:

Ingredients

1 cup oats 1/2 cup gram flour (besan) 1/2 cup yoghurt 1 small finely chopped onion 1 small finely chopped tomato 1/4 cup fresh chopped coriander leaves 1 finely chopped green chilli (optional) 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder Salt to taste Water as needed Oil or ghee for cooking

Step 1

Oats, gram flour, yoghurt, chopped onion, tomato, coriander leaves, green chilli (if using), cumin, turmeric, and salt should all be combined in a bowl.

Step 2

To get a smooth batter, gradually add water. It should have a consistency similar to pancake batter.

Step 3

Grease a non-stick pan or tawa with ghee or oil and heat it. Transfer a ladleful of batter onto the pan, gently sprinkling it into a circle.

Step 4

Cook over medium heat until crisp on the bottom and beginning to brown around the edges. Pour some ghee or oil over the top.

Step 5

Carefully turn the chilla over and cook until it turns golden brown. Repeat to make more chillas.

Step 6

Serve hot with chutney, yoghurt, or your favourite dip.
