Not every time a dessert craving has to be fulfilled, feeling guilty about it later on. This healthy chocolate mousse skips the use of heavy cream or refined sugar, yet remains rich, silky, and intensely chocolatey. It is a perfect option for a weeknight delight or whenever you want to have something sweet, but also not too heavy or sugary.
2 ripe avocados 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup ¼ cup Greek yogurt 2 tbsp milk (or almond milk) 1 tsp vanilla extract Pinch of salt Fresh berries Dark chocolate shavings Chopped almonds or pistachios Mint leaves (optional)
Take ripe avocados and scoop their flesh into a blender. Add cocoa powder, honey, Greek yoghurt, milk, vanilla, and salt to it and blend everything.
Blend it for one to two minutes. The mixture should appear to be glossy, creamy, and also lump-free with no chunks of avocado.
Taste the mousse and add a little more honey or cocoa if you prefer. Blend it again for a short span until the flavour feels perfectly balanced.
Transfer the prepared mousse to the serving bowls and keep it in the fridge for at least an hour. The longer you freeze it, the nicer it will firm up, resulting in a luxurious mouthfeel.
Lastly, add fresh berries, dark chocolate shavings, chopped nuts, or mint leaves to it.
Serve it chilled for a light dessert that feels rich and decadent without depending on the use of heavy cream or sugar.
