Healthy And Nutritious Sattu Paratha: A High Protein Recipe You Cannot Miss

Sattu paratha is a healthy North Indian delight, which is rich in protein and fibre. This wholesome paratha is a soft wheat paratha stuffed with a flavourful mix of roasted gram flour and spices. Click to read the quick and easy recipe

Ingredients

For the Dough: 2 cups whole wheat flour Water, as needed ½ tsp salt 1 tbsp oil or ghee For the Filling: 1 cup sattu 1 finely chopped onion 2 finely chopped green chillies 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp ajwain 1 tsp kalonji 1 tsp mustard oil 1 tsp lemon juice or amchur powder Salt to taste Water, as needed (to bind the filling) Ghee or oil for frying

Step 1

Take a bowl, mix wheat flour, salt, oil, gradually add water to knead a soft and pliable dough, then cover and set aside for 20 minutes.

Step 2

Mix sattu, onion, green chilli, coriander, ajwain, kalonji, mustard oil, lemon juice, salt in a bowl and add a little water to form a crumbly but moist filling.

Step 3

Divide the dough into equal balls, roll out one ball and place the filling in the centre, then seal the edges to form a pouch and gently roll into a paratha.

Step 4

Heat a tawa, cook the paratha until light brown spots appear, flip, apply ghee/oil and cook on both sides.

Step 5

Serve the sattu paratha with curd or pickle!
