Haven’t Tried Rice Kanji Yet? Refreshing Probiotic You Didn’t Know You Needed

Rice Kanji is a fermented and healthy drink made by soaking cooked rice in water and then allowing it to ferment. It is a light, cooling and easy-to-digest probiotic drink perfect for good gut health. Make it flavourful by adding some buttermilk, curry leaves, or chopped green chillies.

Ingredients

1/2 cup cooked rice 4-5 cups water Salt to taste

Step 1

Wash the rice and cook it in water until it becomes soft, and allow it to cool.

Step 2

In a bowl, add cooked rice and water, cover the lid loosely and let it ferment at room temperature for 1-2 days.

Step 3

Once it is fermented, mash the rice lightly, add salt to taste and mix it well.

Step 4

Serve it fresh!
