If you need a quick and protein-rich snack, why don’t you try making fluffy dhokla? To make it healthier, you can replace besan with chana dal. Just follow these steps and enjoy the Gujarati snack.
1 cup chana dal (soaked) 1 green chilli 1 inch ginger 1/4 cup dahi 1/4 tsp hing 1 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp fruit salt Salt to taste Water as required For Tempering: 2 tbsp oil 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp sesame seeds Few curry leaves Chopped coriander
Grind soaked chana dal with chilli and ginger. Mix water and make a smooth batter.
Add curd, hing, sugar, turmeric, and salt. Let it rest.
Mix in fruit salt. Pour the batter into a greased pan and steam for 15-20 minutes.
Heat some oil, and make a tempering with mustard, sesame seeds, and curry leaves.
Slice the dhoklas, pour the tempering, garnish with coriander leaves, and serve.
