Gujarati Methi Thepla Recipe That Stays Soft For Hours

Methi thepla is a traditional Gujarati flatbread made with whole wheat flour and fresh fenugreek leaves. It is lightly spiced, soft in texture, and designed to keep well, which makes it ideal for travel, lunchboxes, or everyday meals with curd or pickle.

Ingredients

2 cups whole wheat flour 1 cup finely chopped fresh methi leaves ½ tsp turmeric ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp cumin powder Salt to taste 2 tbsp oil Water as needed

Step 1

Combine flour, methi, spices, salt and oil in a bowl.

Step 2

Add water gradually and knead into a soft, pliable dough.

Step 3

Divide into portions, roll into thin discs and heat a tawa.

Step 4

Cook each thepla with light oil until golden spots appear on both sides.
