Dal dhokli is a one-pot dish for which you don’t have to hassle too much. It is the perfect dish for summer because you don’t have to stand for hours in the kitchen to prepare a delicious meal. Check out the guide for this.
1 cup tamarind water 1 tbsp jaggery, coriander Salt, oil, water to taste 1 tsp ginger, chilli powder 1 chopped green chilli 1 tsp mustard, cumin seeds ½ tsp methi seeds, turmeric 1 bay leaf 4-5 curry leaves 1-inch cinnamon stick 1 tbsp lemon juice A pinch of hing ½ cup toor dal ½ cup wheat flour
Pressure cook toor dal with a tablespoon of ghee and a pinch of turmeric powder.
Heat ghee in a pan and saute whole spices, mustard seeds, methi dana, and other powdered spices.
Add curry leaves and after a minute, pour the lentils. After the first boil, pour tamarind extract. Let the ingredients simmer.
Meanwhile, knead a soft dough with a couple of powdered spices and roll it flat. Cut it into small kites.
Add dhokli to the dal and increase the water content. Cover the pan with the lid and let the ingredients cook.
When dal dhokli is ready, temper it with cumin and red chilli powder. Garnish it with coriander and enjoy.
