This drink perfectly captures the nostalgic flavour of street-side guava dusted with salt and spice, but in a sophisticated, fizzy format. The natural sweetness of the fruit is cut through by the sharp, earthy heat of the chilli, making it an incredibly refreshing beverage for a warm afternoon. Serve it in a tall glass to highlight the beautiful pink hue of the guava nectar.
1/2 cup pink guava nectar  1/2 cup sparkling water or soda  1/2 tsp red chilli powder and salt mix for the rim  1 fresh green chilli, slit  Plenty of ice cubes
Rub the rim of a tall glass with a lemon wedge and dip it into the chilli-salt mix.
Fill the glass to the top with ice cubes to ensure the drink stays chilled without diluting too quickly.
Pour the guava nectar into the glass and top it with sparkling water, giving it a gentle stir to combine.
Garnish with the fresh green chilli and serve immediately while the bubbles are at their peak.
