A warm, buttery apple pie is an ultimate comfort dessert that is a bit sweet, spiced up, and perfect for any occasion. This easy-to-make homemade version can be prepared using everyday ingredients and giving you a bakery-style apple pie right in your kitchen.
2 cups all-purpose flour ½ cup cold butter 3–4 tbsp cold water 4 cups sliced apples ½ cup sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp cornflour
In a mixing bowl, add flour and cold butter, rubbing it until it gets a crumbly texture. Add some cold water slowly to make a soft dough.
Mix the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornflour. Toss it well so the spices coat the apple slices evenly.
Roll a portion of dough into a thin circle and place a greased pie dish or bowl. Make sure the edges fit in for a crunchy crust.
Spread the spiced apple filling evenly over the base and press lightly so that the apples settle without any air gaps.
Roll another portion of dough, place it over the filling, and seal the edges. Cut into small slits from the top so that the steam can escape.
Bake the apple pie at 180°C for about 40–45 minutes until it turns golden and crisp. Let it cool a bit before slicing so that the filling is set perfectly.
