Besan roti is a healthy and delicious flatbread made with besan and spices. It’s a gluten-free option that perfectly pairs with pickles, chutney or yoghurt.
1 cup besan ¼ cup whole wheat flour ¼ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp cumin seeds 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander leaves ½ tsp ajwain As needed Salt 2 tbsp oil (for the dough) Water as required Oil/ghee for roasting
Take a bowl, mix besan, wheat flour, spices, salt, coriander and oil.
Gradually add water to form a soft dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Divide into balls and press into thin circles using dry flour.
Roast on a hot tawa until golden spots appear, applying oil/ghee on both sides.
Serve hot with pickle or chutney!
