Gingerbread coffee has the warmth of holiday spices that can give a twist of flavours to your everyday cup. With some hints of ginger and cinnamon, this drink feels ideal for slow winter sipping.
1 cup hot brewed coffee ½ cup milk (dairy or plant-based) 1 tbsp gingerbread syrup or molasses ¼ tsp ground ginger ¼ tsp ground cinnamon 1 pinch nutmeg 1 tsp brown sugar (optional) Whipped cream for topping (optional) Crushed gingerbread cookie for garnish (optional)
Brew one cup of strong coffee and keep it hot, as a bold base performs best for spiced gingerbread flavours.
Take a saucepan and gently heat milk with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and gingerbread syrup, mixing continuously until it turns aromatic.
Add brown sugar if preferred, mixing it well so that it dissolves fully and balances the warm spice notes without overpowering the coffee flavour.
Pour the hot brewed coffee into a mug and slowly add the spiced milk mixture, mixing gently to blend all flavours evenly.
Taste and adjust the sweetness or spice if required, depending on how strong you like it.
Top it with some whipped cream and a sprinkle of crushed gingerbread cookie or cinnamon, and enjoy it hot.
