Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 with a delightful modern twist on Lord Ganeshaâs favourite sweet. These quick, rich chocolate modaks combine condensed milk, dark chocolate, and crumbled mawa or biscuits to create a velvety, fudgy confection that comes together without hassle. Formed using traditional modak moulds, they make an eye-catching, indulgent addition to your festive thali and are bound to be a hit with kids and adults alike.
1 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate 1/2 cup condensed milk 1 cup crumbled mawa (evaporated milk solids) or fine biscuit crumbs 1 tablespoon pure ghee 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder 2 tablespoons finely chopped nuts (pistachios and almonds) for garnish
Heat the pure ghee in a non-stick pan over low heat, add the condensed milk and dark chocolate, stirring continuously until the chocolate melts completely.
Fold in the crumbled mawa or biscuit crumbs along with the cardamom powder, cooking on low heat for three to four minutes until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool until warm enough to handle comfortably.
Grease a modak mould lightly with ghee, place a few chopped nuts in the tip, press a small ball of the chocolate mixture firmly into the mould, close it, and unmould to reveal a smooth chocolate modak.
