Bring an artisanal twist to your Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 sweet spread with these modern coffee hazelnut modaks. Combining the rich depth of freshly brewed espresso, creamy milk solids, and the nutty crunch of toasted hazelnuts, this fusion confection delivers a sophisticated flavour profile. Shaped easily using a classic modak mould, these quick, no-bake treats offer a unique offering for Lord Ganesha that coffee lovers will thoroughly enjoy.
1 cup mawa (evaporated milk solids), crumbled 1/2 cup condensed milk 1 tablespoon instant coffee powder, dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water 1/2 cup roasted hazelnuts, finely chopped 1 tablespoon pure ghee 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder Whole roasted hazelnuts for filling
Heat pure ghee in a non-stick pan over low heat, add the crumbled mawa and condensed milk, and stir continuously for three minutes until the mixture melts together.
Pour in the dissolved coffee liquid, stirring thoroughly to integrate the rich espresso flavour into the milk base.
Cook the mixture on low heat for four to five minutes until it thickens into a pliable dough that leaves the sides of the pan, then fold in the chopped hazelnuts and cardamom powder before taking it off the stove to cool.
Grease a modak mould with a light brush of ghee, place one whole roasted hazelnut in the centre, pack the warm coffee mawa mixture firmly into the mould, close it securely, and gently unmould your finished sweet.
