Tres Leches, meaning “three milks,” is a soft and creamy dessert where sponge cake soaks in milk syrup. This fusion version adds saffron and cardamom for a distinct Indian flavour that fits perfectly for festivals and gatherings.
1 small vanilla sponge cake 1 cup milk ¼ cup condensed milk ¼ cup cream A pinch of saffron ¼ tsp cardamom powder Whipped cream and pistachios for garnish
In a saucepan, warm milk, condensed milk, and cream together. Stir in saffron and cardamom.
Pour the warm milk mixture evenly over the cake, ensuring it seeps through.
Chill the soaked cake in the refrigerator for at least 2–3 hours.
Garnish with whipped cream and chopped pistachios before serving.
