Loaded crisps use sturdy potato chips as a base instead of tortilla chips, creating a rich and indulgent snack. The combination of melted cheese, warm toppings and fresh garnishes delivers contrasting textures. While indulgent, portion control and fresh vegetable toppings can add balance. Immediate serving is essential to maintain some crispness before the chips soften fully.
250 g thick-cut potato chips 1 to 1½ cups grated cheddar or melting cheese ½ cup cooked seasoned mince or beans 1 small tomato, diced 2 tbsp sliced jalapeños ¼ cup yogurt or sour cream
Spread chips in a single layer on a baking tray to prevent excessive moisture build-up.
Scatter protein and cheese evenly and broil until the cheese melts.
Remove promptly to avoid complete softening of the chips.
Top with fresh tomato, jalapeños and yogurt and serve immediately.
