Flat White Coffee is a popular café drink made with a strong shot of espresso and velvety steamed milk with microfoam. It has a rich flavour, a creamy texture, and is perfect for those who enjoy a balanced coffee without too much froth.
1 shot espresso (about 30 ml) ½ cup milk (preferably whole milk) Sugar to taste (optional)
Brew a fresh shot of espresso and pour it into a cup.
Heat the milk until hot but not boiling, then froth it with a steam wand or milk frother until it has a silky microfoam.
Pour the steamed milk gently over the espresso, allowing the foam to create a smooth surface.
Serve immediately, with sugar if desired.
