Potatoes, bananas, and tapioca pearls are among the common choices for making chips. But now it’s time to experiment with new ingredients like pumpkin. Boasting subtle sweetness, the vegetable can be a versatile addition to the kitchen apart from scaring children on your porch around Halloween.
1-2 tsp salt ½ kg pumpkin A pinch of cinnamon powder ¼ tsp red chilli powder 2 tbsp olive oil
Preheat the oven to 180°C while you wash and peel the skin of the pumpkin.
Cut the vegetables into thin slices and dip them in cold water.
Pat dry pumpkin slices and toss them with olive oil and red chilli powder.
Bake the slices for 20-25 minutes or until they are crispy.
Take out the pumpkin chips and let the moisture evaporate for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle salt and a pinch of cinnamon powder before munching on them.
