Kashmiri Kahwa is a traditional, aromatic green tea that is synonymous with celebration and warmth. Infused with whole spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and saffron, and finished with a generous sprinkle of slivered almonds, it is the perfect soothing beverage to serve to guests after a heavy festive meal. This version captures the authentic essence of the Himalayas, offering a delicate golden hue and a complex, spice-forward flavour profile.
2 cups water 1 tsp green tea leaves 2-3 green cardamom pods, crushed 1 small cinnamon stick A pinch of premium saffron strands 1 tsp honey or sugar 1 tbsp slivered almonds
Bring the water to a boil in a small pot along with the crushed cardamom and cinnamon stick.
Remove from heat and stir in the green tea leaves, letting them steep for 2 minutes to avoid bitterness.
Strain the tea into cups and stir in the saffron strands and your preferred sweetener.
Top each cup with a generous garnish of slivered almonds and serve steaming hot.
