Oatmeal cookies feel comforting from the first bite. It is prepared with simple ingredients, little effort, and a homely fragrance, making it perfect for quick treats or evening cravings.
1 cup rolled oats ½ cup all-purpose flour ½ cup brown sugar ¼ cup white sugar ½ cup butter (softened) 1 egg ½ tsp baking soda ¼ tsp salt ½ tsp vanilla essence ¼ cup chocolate chips or raisins (optional)
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper so that the cookies bake evenly without sticking.
In a bowl, mix some softened butter with brown and white sugar until it turns light, smooth, and fluffy, making a base for soft, chewy cookies.
Whisk it well until it is fully blended and glossy, making the dough hold together nicely.
Mix the oats, flour, baking soda, and salt separately in another bowl. Slowly add the dry mix to the wet mixture to form a soft, scoopable dough.
Add in chocolate chips or some raisins to this batter. Spoon small portions, shape them lightly, and place them on a tray, making some space as cookies will spread while baking.
Bake for about 12–15 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and crisp. Let it cool slightly before serving for perfectly chewy, crispy cookies.
