Nankhatai can be made with simple ingredients found at home. It’s an easy and very tasty recipe that doesn’t take much time to prepare. Follow this recipe for perfectly crisp and delicious nankhatais.
1 cup of all-purpose flour ½ cup of sugar ½ teaspoon of baking powder 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract ½ cup of ghee Salt as required Dry fruits as required
Grind sugar into a fine powder. Add flour to the mixture. Sieve it through.
Add the baking powder and salt. Mix it thoroughly.
In a bowl, pour in the ghee and add more flour. Whisk the mixture until soft and creamy. Add cardamom powder and whisk a few more times.
Mix both. Knead into a dough. Roll into small balls. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees centigrade for 10 minutes.
Place the balls on a parchment paper over the baking tray. Place dry fruits over the dough balls. Bake for 10-15 minutes.
Remove tray from oven. Transfer cookies to a cooling rack. Once at room temperature, serve with tea or coffee. Store nankhatai in airtight containers.
