Easy Mexican Pico De Gallo Salsa Recipe For Tacos And Nachos

Pico de gallo is a traditional Mexican salsa made with raw chopped ingredients rather than blended ones. Unlike smoother salsas, this version keeps texture intact. It is commonly served with tacos, grilled meats and nachos. The balance of tomato acidity, onion sharpness and lime juice defines it. Freshness is essential, and it is best eaten the same day it is prepared.

Ingredients

2 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped 1 small red onion, finely chopped 1 green chilli or jalapeño, finely minced 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped Juice of 1 lime Salt to taste

Step 1

Combine chopped tomatoes, onion and chilli in a bowl.

Step 2

Add coriander and lime juice.

Step 3

Season with salt and mix gently. Let it rest 10–15 minutes.

Step 4

Serve fresh with tacos, grilled dishes or tortilla chips.
