Easy Homemade Marble Cake Recipe For Beginners

Marble cake is a soft, butter sponge cake with beautiful twirls of vanilla and chocolate batter. The unique design is created by gently swirling the batter before baking. This cake is perfect for celebrations, picnics or simply as an everyday dessert.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups (180 g) all-purpose flour 1 ½ tsp baking powder ¼ tsp salt ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter (softened) 1 cup (200 g) sugar 2 large eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract ½ cup (120 ml) milk 2 tbsp cocoa powder 2 tbsp hot water

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a loaf pan or round cake tin.

Step 2

In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3

In another bowl, beat butter, sugar until fluffy, add eggs, and vanilla essence.

Step 4

Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and batches, alternating with milk and then mixing it gently.

Step 5

Divide batter into bowls, mix cocoa powder, hot water and stir into one portion.

Step 6

Add vanilla, chocolate batter alternatively into the pan, swirl gently with a knife for a marble effect, then bake for 40-50 minutes until the toothpick comes out clean.
