French toast is a warm, soft and comforting breakfast that can be made quickly using everyday ingredients. The bread soaks up the cinnamon-flavoured custard without becoming soggy, giving each slice a golden, buttery finish.
2–3 slices bread 1 egg ¼ cup milk ½ tsp cinnamon 1 tsp sugar Butter for cooking
Whisk the egg, milk, cinnamon and sugar together in a shallow bowl.
Dip each slice of bread briefly, allowing it to absorb the mixture without breaking.
Cook on a buttered pan until both sides turn golden and lightly crisp.
Serve warm with syrup, honey, fruit or powdered sugar.
