This croissant frankie sandwich is a unique mix of Mumbai’s popular street food, the filling of a frankie and the flakiness of a croissant! Try this recipe today.
1 beetroot, finely chopped 1 carrot, finely chopped 1 potato, boiled and mashed 1 onion, finely chopped Coriander leaves, finely chopped Cheese slices, as needed ½ tsp chaat masala ½ tsp amchur powder Breadcrumbs, as needed Mustard sauce, as needed Green chutney, as needed Butter croissants
Heat the butter in a pan over medium heat. Sauté finely chopped onion till tender and lightly golden.
Stir in finely chopped beets and carrots. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, till somewhat tender but lively.
Add boiling mashed potatoes and mix thoroughly to combine the vegetables into a thick filling. Coat in breadcrumbs and fry.
In a bowl, add more chopped onions, chaat masala and amchur powder. Mix it well and keep aside.
Toast the butter croissant with cheese after cutting it into equal halves. Remove from oven. Add mustard sauce and green chutney.
Gently press the frankie patty onto the croissant and spread. Top with onion mix. Add the other part of the croissant. Serve!
