Relishing sweets often makes you guilty about consuming excess sugar, but when the dessert has nuts, it makes indulging guilt-free. This is your guide to making nourishing and healing dry-fruit-based sweets.
¼ cup almonds 150g dates ¼ cup walnuts 7-8 dried figs 2 tbsp desiccated coconut 1 tsp coconut oil 2 tsp rose water ¼ cup cashews 1 tbsp golden raisins ¼ cup pistachios 1 tbsp white sesame seeds
Blanch or soak nuts and raisins in hot water.
Grind nuts into small pieces, not paste or powder.
Grind raisins, figs, and dates into a paste.
Sauté sesame seeds in coconut oil. Cook the coconut as well.
Add the raisin-fig-date paste along with ground nuts.
When the blend is slightly cool, shape it into barfi, and enjoy.
