Dodha barfi is a beloved North Indian sweet that features a grainy, fudge-like texture. This Diwali, add dodha to your mithai thali to bring in a traditional touch to your festive spread. Here’s how you can make it at home.
4 cups crumbled mawa (khoya) 1 cup jaggery ¼ cup water 1 tablespoon ghee 1 teaspoon cardamom powder Cashew nuts and pistachios for garnishing
Heat some ghee and cook crumbled mawa till golden brown.
In the meantime, mix jaggery with water and boil until it dissolves and forms a consistent syrup.
Add the jaggery syrup to the cooked mawa and stir till the mixture thickens.
Grease a tray and pour the thickened mixture. Spread it evenly and sprinkle chopped nuts.
Let the barfi cool, cut it into squares, and enjoy the North Indian sweet.
