Mohanthal is a festive sweet from Gujarat made with besan, ghee, and sugar syrup. It’s a rich, traditional dessert with a beautiful grainy texture and aromatic taste.
2 cups gram flour (besan) 1 cup ghee 1 cup sugar ½ cup water ½ tsp cardamom powder Chopped nuts for garnish
Roast besan in ghee on low heat until fragrant and deep golden.
Prepare a one-string sugar syrup using sugar and water.
Combine the syrup with roasted besan and stir until thick.
Pour into a greased plate, garnish with nuts, and cool before cutting into pieces.
