Besan halwa is a ghee-rich Indian sweet prepared with roasted gram flour, sugar, and water. It’s aromatic, comforting, and brings warmth to every Diwali feast.
1 cup gram flour (besan) ¾ cup ghee ¾ cup sugar 1½ cups water ½ tsp cardamom powder
Heat ghee in a kadhai and add the besan, roasting it on low flame until golden and fragrant.
In a separate pan, boil water and sugar together to make a light syrup.
Slowly pour the syrup into the roasted besan while stirring constantly.
Cook until it thickens and leaves the sides of the pan, then serve hot with a sprinkle of cardamom and dry fruits.
