Chana barfi is made with besan, which is often made for Diwali. Mixed with chopped dry fruits and nuts, it is a relatively healthier Indian sweet that you can make at home to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

1 cup besan 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup ghee 1/4 cup milk A pinch of cardamom powder Chopped dry fruits for garnishing

Step 1

Roast the besan while stirring till it is golden brown. Set aside.

Step 2

Mix sugar and milk on low heat till the sugar dissolves and the milk thickens.

Step 3

Pour the milk over the roasted besan and mix well. Add ghee and cardamom powder.

Step 4

Cook until the mixture becomes thick and leaves the sides of the pan.

Step 5

Pour the mixture into a greased plate. Garnish with chopped dry fruits. Let it cool before cutting.
