Delhi’s Iconic Ram Laddu: A Desi Snack Everyone Craves

Golden, crunchy bites of gram flour come alive in this ram laddu recipe, perfectly spiced, deep-fried, and packed with chatpata flavours, delivering irresistible desi street-style crunch that makes every bite a festival of taste and fun.

Ingredients

1 cup besan 2 tbsp rice flour ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp ajwain (carom seeds) ½ tsp salt 2-3 tbsp chopped coriander Water as needed (to make thick batter) Oil for deep frying

Step 1

Mix besan, rice flour, chilli powder, turmeric, ajwain, salt, and chopped coriander in a bowl and add water gradually to form a thick batter.

Step 2

Heat oil in a deep pan on medium flame until a drop of batter sizzles immediately.

Step 3

Drop small spoonfuls of the batter into hot oil carefully, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.

Step 4

Fry the laddus, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crisp on all sides.

Step 5

Remove and drain on paper towels, then serve hot with green chutney or tamarind chutney for that perfect street-snack flavour.
