Dahi Tadka comes is a simple dish that can change plain curd to something delcious, having a fragrant tempering of spices, making a cooling, gut-friendly add-on that pairs perfectly with rice, parathas, or even even khichdi.
2 cups thick curd (whisked) 1 tbsp ghee 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds 8-10 curry leaves 2 dried red chillies 1 green chilli, finely chopped ¼ tsp asafoetida (hing) ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp roasted cumin powder Salt to taste 1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
In a bowl, whisk the curd until you get a smooth, lump-free texture. Now, add salt and roasted cumin powder to it.
In a small pan, heat and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, dried red chillies, and hing to make an aromatic tempering.
Mix in the chopped green chilli and a bit of red chilli powder to the curd.
Instantly pour the hot prepared tadka over the curd.
Garnish it with fresh coriander and let the curd settle for a few minutes so that it turns smoky and the flavours infuse well.
Enjoy the prepared dahi tadka with dal-chawal, stuffed parathas, khichdi, or pulao.
