Easter celebrations feel incomplete without having something sweet and cheerful. These soft, fluffy cupcakes are easy to bake and best for sharing among loved ones, making them a simple but festive snack for the occasion.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/4 cup butter (softened) 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 2 tbsp sprinkles or chocolate chips (optional)

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a cupcake tray with the paper liners. This will ensure even baking and make removing cupcakes easy.

Step 2

In a bowl, whisk some butter and sugar until it gets a light and fluffy consistency, to get a soft texture. This will ensure that the cupcakes will turn out airy.

Step 3

To this, add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well. This will bring richness and flavour, making a smooth batter base for the cupcakes.

Step 4

Sift all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together in another bowl. Slowly add the wet mixture to this, alternating with milk to make a smooth, lump-free batter.

Step 5

Pour this batter into cupcake liners and fill them halfway. Add the sprinkles or chocolate chips if using to give a festive touch and some extra added flavour.

Step 6

Bake for about 15 to 18 minutes and then check with a toothpick to see if it comes out clean. Let it cool slightly before serving or decorate it for a pleasant Easter treat.
