Murukku is a go-to South Indian snack for tea-time munching. Adding a hint of spice, garlic murukku elevates your chai sessions with the perfect crunch. Here’s how to make garlic murukku.
5 garlic cloves 1 red chilli 1 cup rice flour 1/2 cup besan 1 tablespoon butter 1 teaspoon red chilli powder Salt to taste 1/2 teaspoon hing 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds Oil for deep frying Little water for mixing
Grind garlic, red chilli, and a little water to make a smooth paste.
Combine rice flour, besan, melted butter, red chilli powder, salt, hing, and sesame seeds.
Add garlic paste to the dry ingredients and mix well.
Slowly add water and knead a smooth dough. Take small portions and shape them into spirals.
Heat some oil and deep-fry the murukku till crispy. Drain the excess oil and enjoy.
