Whether it is a quick meal to kickstart the day or take a break between the rush, a portion of this easy rava toast recipe is a foolproof option to have handy. Best enjoyed hot off the pan, make it your own with versatile additions like grated carrots or zucchini.
½ cup rava ¼ cup yoghurt 4 brown bread slices 1 green chilli, chopped 1 small onion, chopped ½ tomato, chopped ½ capsicum, chopped 2 tablespoons butter, for frying ¼ cup water Salt and pepper, to taste Green chutney, for serving
Combine the yoghurt, rava and water in a bowl and set aside for the semolina to absorb moisture.
Add the chopped onion, tomato, green chilli and capsicum before stirring well to combine.
Melt the butter on a hot pan until foamy before spooning the rava mixture onto the slice of bread.
Place it facing downwards in the butter and fry for 3-4 minutes before flipping and cooking on the second side for a couple of minutes.
Once crisp, cut into two halves and serve hot with green chutney.
