It’s the month of Sawan (Shravan), a time filled with devotion, fasting, and peaceful prayers. Many people follow a sattvic diet during this period, and sabudana becomes a common choice. If you’re looking for something light, tasty, and vrat-friendly, these crispy sabudana cutlets are just right.
1 cup sabudana 2 boiled potatoes 1/2 cup roasted peanuts 2-3 green chilies 1 inch of ginger 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves 1 teaspoon cumin seeds Rock salt to taste Oil for frying
Begin by rinsing and soaking sabudana till soft. Drain excess water
Mix sabudana with potatoes, crushed peanuts, green chillies, ginger, lemon juice, cumin seeds, coriander, and rock salt.
Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into patties.
Heat some oil and shallow fry or deep fry the patties on a medium flame until golden and crispy.
Serve with your favourite chutney and add to your Sawan vrat thali.
