Crispy Poha Cutlet Recipe: Easy Tea-Time Snack You'll Love

 Poha cutlets are the kind of snack that is tasty yet effortless to make. Prepared with everyday pantry staples, these are perfect evening snacks or when you crave something light but crunchy.

Ingredients

1 cup thick poha 1 medium potato, boiled and mashed ¼ cup green peas, boiled and mashed 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 tsp ginger-green chilli paste ½ tsp cumin seeds ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp garam masala Salt to taste 2 tbsp chopped coriander 2 tbsp breadcrumbs Oil for shallow frying

Step 1

Rinse 1 cup poha, drain it well, and let it soften for about 5-6 minutes until fluffy but not mushy.

Step 2

In a bowl, blend the softened poha, mashed potato, peas, onion, ginger-chilli paste, spices, salt, and coriander.

Step 3

To this, add 2 tbsp of breadcrumbs and mix gently to make a soft, non-sticky mixture that holds its shape.

Step 4

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape it into flat, round cutlets.

Step 5

Roll the cutlets lightly in breadcrumbs to make a crunchy outer layer that will turn golden while frying.

Step 6

Shallow-fry the cutlets in medium-hot oil until it turns crisp and golden on both sides. Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
