Kanda bhaji, also known as vengaya bajji, is one of the most popular South Indian street snacks. To pair a crispy snack with your evening tea or coffee, kanda bhaji is the perfect option. Here’s how to make it.
2 onions, sliced thinly 1 cup besan 1/4 cup rice flour 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds A pinch of baking soda Salt to taste Oil for deep frying
Mix besan, rice flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add water to make a smooth batter.
Slice the onions and coat with the batter. Heat some oil and deep-fry till crispy.
Drain excess oil and serve with your favourite chutney.
